Aus der Rock- und Metal-Hochburg Hannovers hebt sich eine Band hervor, die auf charismatische Stimme, ausgefeiltes, eingängiges Songwriting und auf messerscharfe Soli und Pfundschwere Gitarrenriffs setzt: Female-Fronted Heavy Rock – dafür stehen Nicky Gronewold (voc), Anke Sobek (bass), Christos Mamalitsidis (git) und Florentin Adolf (dr) mit ihrer Musik.

NIKKI PUPPET wurde im Herbst 2003 von Nicky Gronewold und Christos Mamalitsidis gegründet, Nicky ist quasi Namensgeberin der Band. Seit Herbst 2004 ist das Line-Up mit Bassistin Anke Sobek und Florentin Adolf an den Drums komplett. Nach ihrem vielgelobten Debütalbum „Puppet on a string“ erscheint nun ihr zweiter Silberling „Militant Mother“ und wurde wie „Puppet on a string“ von keinem geringeren als Herman Frank, langjähriger Produzent und erfolgreicher Gitarrist unter anderem bei Bands wie Victory und Accept, im ARENA 20 Recording-Studio in Hannover produziert.

Das neue Album „Militant Mother“ lockt mit 11 knackigen, ohrwurmartigen Eigenkompositionen, wo gekonnt der Brückenschlag zwischen traditionellem HeavyRock und modernem Metal geschaffen wird. Ihr musikalisches Repertoire reicht von Uptempo-Nummern wie dem Opener „Lost in Time“ sowie „Open up your mind“ über Heavy-Rock-Songs wie „Militant Mother“, dem rockig-punkigen „Paralized“ bis zum balladesken „Turning in Circles“s owie der rockigen Dampfl ock-Version von Billy Joel´s legendärem Song „We didn´t start the fire“, der inhaltlich nach wie vor in unseren Zeitgeist passt.

Durch die fruchtbare Symbiose zwischen Produzent Herman Frank und NIKKI PUPPET entsteht der ganz eigene Stil der Band, der lichterloh brennt.

Vom 9. Mai bis 7. Juni 2006 tourten NIKKI PUPPET als Support der Michael Schenker Group erfolgreich durch ganz Europa , im Anschluß daran durfte ein gelungenes Konzert in Wacken 2006 nicht fehlen. Im Dezember 2006 ging die Band erneut auf Tour, diesmal im Vorprogramm von VICTORY.

NIKKI PUPPET were formed in autumn 2003 by Nicky Gronewold and Christos Mamalitsidis, Nicky is basically the name generator of the band. Since autumn 2004 is the present line up with bass player Anke Sobek and Florentin Adolf on the drums complete. Now, following their highly praised debut album „Puppet on a string“, arrives their second album „Militant Mother“ and as with „Puppet on a string“ was produced in the ARENA 20 Recording-Studio, Hannover by non other than Herman Frank, long time producer and successful guitarist with bands such as Victory and Accept.

The new album „Militant Mother“ entices with 11 crisp, stick in the head compositions, where the bridge has been skilfully built between traditional Heavy Rock and modern Metal. Their musical repertoire ranges from Up-tempo numbers such as the opener „Lost in Time“ or „Open up your mind“ to Heavy Rock songs such as „Militant Mother“, the rocking punk styled „Paralized“ through to the balladic „Turning in Circles“ or the rockin’ steam engine version of Billy Joel´s legendary song „We didn´t start the fire“, that still today is topically relevant. Through the productive, symbiotic partnership between producer Herman Frank and NIKKI PUPPET the band’s own individual style has been able to develop and is now shown to the fullest.

Between the 9. May and 7. June 2006 NIKKI PUPPET successfully toured through Europe as support for the Michael Schenker Group, at the end of the tour they then played a successful concert at the Wacken Open Air Festival 2006. In December 2006 the band was going on tour once again, this time as support for VICTORY.
