Im Sommer 2004 beschlossen die langjährigen Freunde Tomas Olsson und Fredrik Bergh zu ihren musikalischen Wurzeln zurückzukehren und gemeinsam mit Urban Breed und Oskar Belin eine Metal-Band zu gründen: BLOODBOUND.

Ein Demo wurde aufgenommen und an Plattenfirmen weltweit versandt, um einen Plattenvertrag zu erhalten. Nach ein paar Wochen kamen diverse Anfragen herein, und die Band fühlte sich von dem herausragenden Feedback fast erschlagen. In Europa unterschrieben die Schweden letztendlich bei Metal Heaven.

Die Aufnahmen für das Debütalbum namens “Nosferatu” fanden im Jahr 2005 statt, welches dann Anfang 2006 in den Läden stand. Es wurde zu einem großen Erfolg und erreichte weltweit fantastische Reviews. Kurz nach den Aufnahmen hatte Oskar Belin die Band leider verlassen, da ihm für das Touren aufgrund von anderer Verpflichtungen leider keine Zeit blieb. Er wurde durch Pelle Åkerlind (Morgana Lefay) ersetzt. In der Folgezeit spielten BLOODBOUND Shows mit Arch Enemy, Dark Tranquillity, Evergrey, Pretty Maids und Sabaton, um nur einige zu nennen. 

Während der “Nosferatu” Tour bekamen die Schweden wieder einige Probleme mit dem Line-Up, so dass u.a. Kristian Andrén (Wuthering Heights, Memento Mori, Tad Morose), Johan Sohlberg (The Storyteller), Jörgen Andersson (Baltimoore) und Markus Albertson (Seven Sins) kamen und gingen. Nach dem Ende der Tour entschied sich auch Urban Breed, die Band zu verlassen, um sich zu 100% auf seine Soloaktivitäten zu konzentrieren.

Nach diesem turbulenten, hektischen Jahr, strebten BLOODBOUND nun nach Konstanz. Tomas’ jüngerer Bruder Henrik Olsson stieg als festes Mitglied in die Band ein. Noch ohne Sänger begannen die Aufnahmen zum neuen Album “Book Of The Dead”. Nach einer fünfmonatigen Suche wurde letztendlich der perfekte Frontmann gefunden. Im Januar dockte der deutsche Sänger Michael Bormann (Jaded Heart, Bonfire, J.R. Blackmore, Rain) bei den Schweden an, so dass die Aufnahmen im Februar 2007 abgeschlossen werden konnten.

In the Summer of 2004, long-time friends Tomas Olsson and Fredrik Bergh decided to go back to their musical roots and start a metal band, they teamed up with Urban Breed and Oskar Belin to form Bloodbound.

A demo was made and shipped off to a bunch of record labels around the world in order to get a record-deal. After a couple of weeks the offers started to drop in and the band was overwhelmed by the great response they had gotten. A record-deal was signed with Metal Heaven for the European territory.

In 2005 they started the recordings of their debut album “Nosferatu” which was released in early 2006, and became a big success with top reviews around the world. Straight after the recordings Oskar Belin left the band because he didn’t have the time to go on tour and play live, Pelle Åkerlind (Morgana Lefay) was added to the line-up to replace him. The album took them on tour playing gigs with bands like Arch Enemy, Dark Tranquillity, Evergrey, Pretty Maids and Sabaton to name a few.

During the “Nosferatu” tour they had some “in and out members” including Kristian Andrén (Wuthering Heights, Memento Mori, Tad Morose), Johan Sohlberg (The Storyteller), Jörgen Andersson (Baltimoore) and Markus Albertson (Seven Sins). At the end of the tour Urban Breed decided to leave the band to focus a 100% on his solo project.

After a very turbulent and hectic year they really felt that they needed some stability in the band and asked Tomas’ younger brother Henrik Olsson to join the band as a permanent member. He accepted and the band started to work on their second studio album “Book Of The Dead”. The spot as Bloodbound’s new lead singer was not yet filled and it took the band almost 5 months to find the perfect front man for the band. In January 2007, German born Michael Bormann (Jaded Heart, Bonfire, J.R. Blackmore, Rain) joined the band and the album “Book Of The Dead” was recorded during January and February 2007. The release date is set for May 25^th 2007.
